This work tells about the great commander of ancient Rome Gaius Julius Caesar. Basically, it describes Caesar's campaign on the territory of the Gauls (Helvetii), conquering and bringing their clans to submission to Rome. Events of hoary antiquity come to life on the pages of this work, showing the reader the historically active persons of these events as if alive, descended to the reader from the historical canvas of the past. The greatest commander, and later dictator of Rome, Gaius Julius Caesar, is favorably shown as a man, commander and organizer, a man who showed mercy and respect to the enemy, offering and providing him with humanitarian aid and thereby paving the direct path for himself to the complete conquest of Gaul.
