The results of studies of phase transitions in solutions, mixtures and gels of polymers in a mechanical field (under tension, compression and shear deformation, under the influence of positive and negative external pressure), in electric and magnetic fields, and also off the field. Systems with amorphous (liquid) separation with upper and lower critical dissolution temperatures, with crystalline phase separation and with liquid crystalline phase transitions are considered.
The influence of molecular weight, chain flexibility and polymer concentration, polarity and size of solvent molecules is analyzed, strain rate, magnetic field strength, surface energies of components on phase transitions of polymer systems in mechanical, magnetic and electric fields. The phase diagrams and pulsating mechanism of phase decomposition of cross-linked polymer gels are described. Methods for constructing and methods for calculating phase diagrams of polymer systems are considered.
