The novel is written at the intersection of the genres of fantasy and psychological prose. Against the backdrop of a medieval setting, the story of the complex personal relationships of the main characters is described, with virtually no use of fantasy plot elements (minimum magic, lack of “quests”). A distinctive feature of the novel is the absence of a clear division of the two main characters into an antagonist and a protagonist: good and evil at times change polarities and move from one to the other.
