Sasha Guitry (1885-1957) is a legend of French theater and cinema of the first half of the 20th century. Playwright, actor, director, novelist, artist - he was the uncrowned King of the Grand Boulevards. He was loved for his brilliant humor, insight, subtle psychologism and worldly wisdom, devoid of edification. His plays, of which there are about 120, like his prose, were written by a master of belles lettres; easily with pure Parisian elegance. The collection, which for the first time introduces the domestic reader to the literary work of Sasha Guitry, includes: his most famous novel “Memoirs of a Sharper”, an autobiography, aphorisms and anecdotes and two famous comedies “Désiré” and “The Father Was Right”.
