The hero’s specialty is a teacher at a vocational school in the city of Aleksandrovsk, on Sakhalin, behind the lights of the lighthouses. The events take place in the early fifties of the last century. The Sakhalin students who made up the team of boxers are a collection of the most diverse characters. A young teacher works with them, educates the boys, shapes their growth, fighting skills in the ring and courage. The readers also see the island of Sakhalin with its people, with nature as a bastion - the protector of the entire Far East.
