If you cross Faina Ranevskaya, Socrates and Madame Pompadour, you get Marge Tensch. She was born in the USSR, but then moved to America, opened a literary agency in Hollywood and inadvertently fell in love with lawyer Paul Wardlaw.

Paul knows how to make subtle jokes and draw interesting historical parallels, but, unfortunately, in his closet there are a couple of gloomy skeletons, and getting along with these toothy brethren is not so easy.

Marge scoffs at everything that lies badly, leads a stormy life and writes a half-diary, half-medical book, half-novel, a semi-textbook of modern history - our own, and at the same time the world's.
