The book is dedicated to the life and deeds of Charles I, a European statesman and commander of the 13th century, king of Naples and Sicily (1266-1285), a representative of the French Capetian dynasty, the younger brother of Saint Louis. Charles I, who played a major role in a number of important events European medieval history, with his activities completed the era of the “high” Middle Ages and contributed to the formation of state-political and cultural-civilizational borders of the Western world, many of which have survived to this day and influence modern European processes. The book was written based on a large number of sources and historical literature, much of which has not yet been translated into Russian. Addressed to everyone who is interested in the history of Europe.
