Recently, many books and articles have appeared that interpret in different ways the events of July 17, 1918, which took place in the house of the merchant Ipatiev in Yekaterinburg. The main document relating to those days remains the book of the forensic investigator for particularly important cases of the Omsk District Court N. A. Sokolov, “The Murder of the Royal Family” (1925). It is supplemented by the memoirs of General M. K. Diterichs, published in 1922, and excerpts from the book by the educator of the royal family P. Gilliard. Various documents are also printed.
