The book “Letters of Nicodemus” by the famous Polish writer Jan Dobraczynski is a fictionalization of the Gospels, executed masterfully and convincingly, and has a huge emotional impact on the reader. This is magnificent psychological prose, devoid of even a shadow of stylization or deliberate archaism, and at the same time not retreating one step from the spirit and meaning of the New Testament. The narration is told on behalf of Nicodemus, an influential Pharisee, doctor of theology and member of the Sanhedrin, who is mentioned in the Gospels as one of the secret disciples of Christ. Side by side with him, the reader goes through a long and difficult path of insight.
