Inspector Konrad Seyer, the hero of Karin Fossum's novels, is a typical Norwegian policeman: serious, punctual and a little old-fashioned. In “Don't Be Afraid of Wolves,” he is busy investigating two crimes that are quite ordinary in modern times, the solution to which, as well as the motives, seem to lie on the surface: the murder of an elderly woman living alone on her farm, and a bank robbery with hostage taking. However, as it gradually becomes clear, very unusual characters are incomprehensibly involved in all these events - including a young man who escaped from a psychiatric clinic, endowed, according to local residents, with some supernatural abilities (including the ability to foresee the future). Karin Fossum is called the Norwegian queen of detective stories. . Her series of novels about Inspector Conrad Seyer brought her worldwide fame and has been translated into 16 languages. Two of her novels were published in Russian: “The Eye of Eva” and “Don’t Look Back!” Based on the latest novel, the film “Girl by the Lake” (dir. Andrea Molaioli) was made in Italy.
