The book of detective prose by the popular St. Petersburg author Nikita Aleksandrovich Filatov (b. 1961) includes his action-packed stories “A Study with a Fatal Accident”, “Ten Days a Week”, “Trap for the Smart” and “The Transition Period”, combined one main character - police captain Vinogradov, who finds himself in the very center of a deadly confrontation between the state and organized crime, growing out of the ruins of the former USSR.
