This is the first publication of the book “State” in Russia in 112 years, carried out on the initiative of the independent project “Rustate.org”. The book sets out Oppenheimer’s general theory about the origin, development and future transformation of the institution of the State. “Developed by Franz Oppenheimer, the sociological “Idea of the State” dates back to Gerrard Winstanley (1609-1676) and Henri de Saint-Simon (1760-1825). In accordance with them, historical research indicates that each State “is entirely in its genesis, and by its nature, is a social (class) institution, forcibly imposed by a victorious group of people over a defeated group for the sole purpose of establishing the Dominion of the former over the latter, and for protection against uprisings from within and attacks from without. And such Domination has no other purpose than the economic exploitation of the conquered by the victors. And no primitive State in world history arose, or arose in any other way..." (Franz Oppenheimer, "State", "Idea of the State").
