The first continuation of the Senior Chronicle of the Supreme Masters is a historical source from the mid-15th century on the history of the German Order in Prussia. The author of the chronicle is not identified; it is probably a member of the order or a person who had access to the order's archive. The main part of the chronicle covers the history of the confrontation between the order and the estates of Prussia (1440) and the first two years of the Thirteen Years' War (1454–1466) between the order, on the one hand, and the estates (the so-called “Prussian League”) and Poland, on the other . The translation allows a wide range of readers to get acquainted with one of the brightest periods in the history of the German Order, which ended with the loss of a significant part of Prussia. The text of the chronicle is provided with detailed reference materials.
