In the second part of the novel, American officers from the Fort Hood base in Texas, who lost their command in the outbreak of the World War, together with parts of the Texas militia, resist the invasion of armies of murderers and drug mafiosi from neighboring Mexico. They are also trying to observe the remnants of the law - only this is no longer possible and the law is one - kill or be killed.
