E. Seton-Thompson, the famous Canadian naturalist writer, is perhaps one of our most read and revered writers. Nevertheless, we are publishing a new collection of his works. Not only because our contemporary began to remember more and more often: in addition to various coveted “deficiencies”, there are such values of earthly existence as free wind, green grass, clean water, the flight of a bird... Not only that's the point. Our Prishvin wrote in “Eyes of the Earth”: “Nature loves a plowman, a singer and a hunter.” Ernest Seton-Thompson, like Prishvin himself, is from a rare breed of people, united in these three guises: his childhood hobbies of hunting and ornithology grew into professional scientific and practical activities, coupled with literary talent. Our collection includes well-known works: literary autobiography “My Life”, a bright adventure story about the “Indian life” of boys - “Little Savages”, concludes the book with six stories from among the now classic short stories about animals. However, this is the first time all this has been put together in such a combination; We hope that this non-random combination, in addition to purely literary and educational merits, will allow us to more accurately and fully express the image of the writer himself, the spirit of his time, somewhat distorted by the film adaptations of past years. This will, of course, be facilitated by the original design, based on the author’s drawings.
