Pseudo-documentary alternative history. Describes the events immediately preceding the Russo-Japanese War and related to the construction of the fleet. But - without any hitches, the ancestors will cope on their own.

“Dreams of the Grand Duke” is the first part of the duology. It covers in more detail the development of Russian shipbuilding enterprises and Russian naval artillery, and an appendix provides a detailed chronology of the construction of ships.

“War of Empires”, the second part of the pseudo-documentary history begun in the story “Dreams of the Grand Duke”. It is dedicated to the events of the Russian-Japanese War of 1904–1905. Only a small part has already been devoted to shipbuilding; the main part is the actual military operations and a little bit of politics. Appendices to the text include a chronology of shipbuilding during the war and a little of the poetry of those years that I have revised.
