The name of Alexander Green, the creator of an entire world called Greenland, is known to everyone today, although only a few know the work of this amazing writer well. His fantastic heroes, who can fly, walk on the waves, dream and see their dreams come true, have always fascinated readers and endowed them with hope in any circumstances. But there was in his works, as in his life, a longing for the Unfulfilled. He did not become a sailor, but he became a Socialist-Revolutionary, coming into close contact with those who prepared and carried out terrorist attacks, was never recognized as one of the writers, many of whom did not take his work seriously, lived not just in poverty - in poverty and knew how to be content with little. At any time, he was an untimely man and left the most contradictory memories of himself among those who knew him. But his life was warmed by the sacrificial love of Nina Nikolaevna Green, his second wife, largely thanks to whose efforts we can today imagine what kind of person the creator of “Scarlet Sails” and “Running on the Waves” was. The author of the book is the famous writer and literary critic Alexey Varlamov – on the basis of published and archival documents, he managed to create a surprisingly lively and integral image of this extraordinary person and present his work in a very interesting and detailed manner.
