Korney Ivanovich Chukovsky (1882–1969) is not only the author of well-known children's poems and fairy tales, but also an outstanding literary critic, critic, translator, active participant and organizer of literary life in Russia for seven decades. Despite the abundance of books and publications dedicated to him, his multifaceted nature largely remains a mystery to researchers. Writer and journalist Irina Lukyanova, based on many sources, has created a new biography of the writer, unsurpassed in its completeness, fitting his life into the broad panorama of Russian history and literature of the 20th century. In the author's presentation, Chukovsky appears not only as a figure of a bygone era, but also as our interlocutor, answering pressing questions of our time.
