This is a story about the moral quest of a person for whom understanding the world becomes the main task of life. The action of the novel takes place in our days. At the center of the novel is the figure of a king, the ruler of a certain dwarf state located in the southwest of Europe. Yes, the author wants to say, a person lives in a world of absurdity. Man strives to bring at least some order to the world, however, he almost never succeeds. But the world of people would be much more catastrophic and uglier if some of us had not tried to turn it towards Good. The author avoids an edifying tone. He is not a school teacher or a priest: it is not the writer’s job to harass the reader with races and guide him on the right path. It’s good if, while reading a novel, the reader thinks a couple of times, the first time - why he was born, the second time - why he lives; if this happens, the author will consider his task completed.
