Riben Clay was a modest, reserved man; he was once even nicknamed the Van Gogh of the Cosmos. Year after year, Anson Lathrop followed Riben Clay's trail from star to star, collecting information about him, talking with those he met along the way, trying to find out where his paintings were located. And suddenly this trail was broken. Clay left one specific planet, and no one knew where he went from there. Lathrop spent a lot of time and learned that Clay showed up on a distant planet and soon died. Lathrop went there.
