The hero is Varlamov from the novel “In the Lands of Sunset”, the action takes place 10 years later. Adventures are described in Russia, the Japanese Autonomous Region of Greater China, and again in Russia - the Kolyma Territory. Three women meet on his way, and the most significant will be the meeting with the lady of the Kolyma Territory. The Rogns appeared after the Third World War, having received the gift of energy control as a result of mutation. In the novel “In the Lands of Sunset” these are Wald and Renata. Ordinary people treat rogns with distrust and fear. Rogna forces the hero to take himself as a temporary wife, odulun in Yakut. The goal is the birth of a child who should play a key role in the emergence of a free Northern Federation, which will push back the emergence of a world totalitarian state and the advent of the Age of Darkness by a century. The marriage is short-lived, and although love arises, Rogna pushes Varlamov back to his wife. These are happy years, but the end comes unexpectedly. The wife dies of black sickness - she fell ill even before meeting the hero, but the incubation period turned out to be incredibly long. Varlamov faces a choice, predicted by the mad horny from “In the Lands of Sunset” - to live long and become very rich, or to meet his wife in seven days. In the distant Kolyma region, his son from Rogna sees on TV how Varlamov dies in the explosion of the first train departing along the future Great Northern Railway and firmly decides to complete his father’s life’s work.
