Gennady Prashkevich’s new book consists of two novels dedicated to the distant future of earthly civilization: “The Helmsman’s Book” and “Tsar-Terror”. Peering into the grandiose shadow falling in our time from the supposed future, the writer makes a bold attempt to predict the development of society, talk about upcoming global changes, relying on the law of the historical spiral, on the periodic repetition of forms of social organization. “The Helmsman’s Book” is a multifaceted philosophical work. Not limiting himself to considering a single general trend, a linear-progressive vector of human development, the writer demonstrates several probable scenarios for the development of events at once, warns of monstrous catastrophes and global problems awaiting earthly civilization, tries to suggest possible ways out of dead-end situations of the future, while operating with an amazing number of characters and quasi-documents.
