Wilbur Smith (1933–2021) was born in Northern Rhodesia (South Africa). He has written 49 historical adventure and action novels. For his services to literature, Wilbur Smith was awarded the British National Book Award. The collection presents some of his most famous “solo” novels – “Eye of the Tiger” and “Don’t Wake the Devil” in new translations. Harry Fletcher decided to put an end to his criminal past (“ Tiger's Eye"). He settled on an island off the coast of South Africa and now earns an honest – or almost always honest – living by organizing boat trips and fishing trips for tourists. But one day, cool guys appear on board his boat, and they are not interested in fish at all - they are looking for the treasure of ancient Indian kings that sunk in the ocean: a golden throne in the form of a tiger, encrusted with a priceless diamond. Harry soon realizes what a dangerous adventure he has gotten himself into, because if the search is successful, the extra witnesses will simply be removed... Fate brought them together in Zanzibar, and from that moment on, the old scoundrel Flynn and the simple-minded Sebastian began poaching in the territory of the German colonies of Africa (“Don’t wake the devil” ). Considering themselves invulnerable, they rob the residence of the Kaiser's governor. Who would have thought that after this the gates of hell would open for them and nothing in their lives would be the same?.. The novel “Eye of the Tiger” was previously published under the title “Gaze of the Tiger.” The novel “Don’t Wake the Devil” was previously published under the title “Scream” the devil."
