The monograph by Professor D. D. Frolov, working at the National Archives of Finland, presents a unique scientific study of the problems of the capture, detention and return of Soviet and Finnish prisoners of war from two wars of the twentieth century. The book is based on real facts, obtained primarily as a result of a painstaking study of archival materials, many of which are published for the first time, and extensive historiography is involved.
