Fragments of anarchist anthropology

The author invites readers to get acquainted with a discipline that now exists only in its infancy - anarchist anthropology. He argues that we have much to learn from so-called "primitive" societies who live without state or external coercion, and debunks the common myth of progressive European empires - winners on the treadmill of "enlightenment" and "technological development" (and in fact successful
in the war). At the same time, the author is critical of primitivism and argues that horizontal societies can exist at the current level of development of civilization.
In addition to “Fragments,” the book includes articles by Graeber from different years, in which he raises the following questions: why the idea of any radical transformation of society increasingly seems “unrealistic” to us, and if it is no longer possible to change the socio-political system by storming the Bastille, what should we do to bring the revolution closer? How does structural violence affect our imagination and identification with others? What role do debt obligations play in world history and what has changed in 5,000 years?
