The book is addressed to a wide range of readers who are faced with the task of getting acquainted with the basics of the Latin language and culture in a limited amount of time (30-60-100 teaching hours). The educational material of the book is built mainly on the principle of taking into account the relevance of phenomena, so or otherwise related to the Latin language, in the modern life and culture of Russians. The main volume of the book is intended for quick introductory reading. Grammatical topics are subordinated to the central goal - text analysis, and a significant reduction of grammatical material is achieved due to coinciding phenomena in the Russian and Latin languages. The textbook implements a philological program to a greater extent, rather than a linguistic one. The course provides reliable practical access to a variety of humanities disciplines.
