The book is dedicated to the tragic fate of Christians in the countries of the Middle East. It was here that the apostles preached and the first Christian communities were formed. Centuries have passed. There are fewer and fewer Christians in the Middle East. Religious conflicts occur and entire families are forced to flee to the “tolerant” West. But someone remains and tries to preserve the precious heritage. How long will these ascetics last? The author thinks about this when talking about his visits to Syria, Egypt, Lebanon, Iraq.
