The State Museum of Fine Arts named after A. S. Pushkin is one of the most significant art collections of the Soviet Union, which presents works of art from foreign countries from ancient times to the present day. The museum was created with public funds on the initiative of professors from Moscow University headed by I. V. Tsvetaev and opened in 1912.
