The book by the famous writer and screenwriter, recognized master of the detective genre Anatoly Yakovlevich Stepanov, includes two stories united by one main character - a former front-line officer, a member of the Moscow police, Alexander Smirnov. In the story, LAST, Smirnov receives the task of clearing the railway station from speculators bandit. He manages to get on the trail of the raiders who were preparing another robbery... The film of the same name was shot by director Andrei Ladynin in 1981, starring: Vasily Mishchenko, Sergei Sazontyev, Gennady Korolkov.
