The action of the novel “The Three Crowns” takes place in England in the 17th century during the reign of the reckless Charles the Second Stuart. Due to circumstances, the king is forced to give his niece Mary in marriage to the Dutch prince William of Orange, who disgusts the beautiful bride with his ugliness and delusions of grandeur. Will Mary fulfill her husband's cherished dream - if she becomes queen - will she give him the crowns of England, Scotland and Ireland?
