And although his character remains online in the game, Thomas himself seems to have been erased from the face of the earth. His last words in the chat of the online game were revelations, from which it follows that our world is a virtual simulacrum, similar to the “matrix”, and Thomas has just been extracted from it. Thomas’s girlfriend, Mina Hinrichsen, unsuccessfully tries to attract the attention of law enforcement agencies to the disappearance of her friend, but is unable to overcome the boundaries of the police bureaucracy, since the circumstances of the crime, even for her, look like the plot of a Wachowski brothers blockbuster.
