A city in which once a month the terrible Night of Scars occurs - a night on which streets and squares become hunting grounds for the vampire angel Carnival. This city does not want either freedom or salvation - for it is accustomed to existing in a nightmare. And therefore, the uninvited saviors of Deepgate - the teenage angel Dill and the killer girl Rachel - cannot count on either the help of people or support from above.
