The famous French Slavist Georges Nivat (born 1935) had a life full of bright events. Close communication with Boris Pasternak, expulsion from the USSR, arrest of his bride, injury in Algeria, friendship with dissidents, May 1968, meetings with Solzhenitsyn... He was treated cruelly in the USSR, but if there are real Russophiles in the world, then he is alone of them. The book “Russophile” continues the series of Alexander Arkhangelsky “Happy Life”.
