I admit that Aleksand Shabashkevich’s book grabbed me literally from the first line and did not let go until the very end. In America they say about such books “page turner”, which, in general, does not have an adequate translation into Russian; this means that the pages seem to turn by themselves, without letting go of the reader. And this fully applies to this book. Let me give you another typical American characteristic of an attractive book: a good read. This idiom has no exact translation. But roughly we can say this: a fascinating read. And this fully applies to the book by Alexander Shabashkevich. (V. Posner)
