In the “Documentary Prose” section - “Nat Tate (1928–1960) - American artist” by the famous English writer William Boyd (1952). Despite the abundant illustrative material, links to diaries and archives, mention of real cult figures of New York bohemia of the 1950s and the participation in the narrative of such luminaries as Picasso and Braque, the main character - Nat Tate - never existed in nature: the reader has It's a pure hoax. However, three films have been made based on the fake biography, and a painting by a fictitious artist sold for a tidy sum at Sotheby’s two years ago. Translation and afterword by Olga Varshaver.
