The center of this book, based on the materials of a doctoral dissertation, is the novel “We” by Evgeny Ivanovich Zamyatin, which unexpectedly turned out to be relevant, interesting and multi-valued today (although it was written in 1920), a novel that gave birth to its own tradition, giving rise to books -similarity. However, the content of the proposed work is not limited to the analysis of Zamyatin’s dystopia. Through the prism of a satirical-fantastic novel, Zamyatin’s creative path, the system of connections of the Russian writer with his predecessors and contemporaries are viewed to one degree or another (albeit fragmentarily), and theoretical and literary issues are also touched upon (in the aspect of the comic problem): imagery in the writer’s work is explored , in particular, in his novel “We”; attention is paid to the specifics of the genre, the comic is considered in the system of plot, chronotope, and the technique of the comic in the novel is analyzed. The problem of author's monologism in the narrative structure of the work is studied. The connections between E.
