The time and place of action of the story, which did not happen, but which could well have happened, is Leipzig, 1747. Handel, favorite of the public and the powers that be, invites Bach, the cantor of the Church of St. Thomas and the father of twenty children, who has just been admitted to the Society of Musical Sciences, for lunch at the hotel.
