The author of the book, a former Baltic naval sailor and writer Ilya Amursky, spent many years collecting information about the life and work of Zheleznyakov, looking for his relatives, comrades, and eyewitnesses of the events. The book was written based on this material. Many tens of thousands of fearless soldiers gave their lives for the cause of the people, fighting in the ranks of the Red Army and Navy.
