In space, one after another, merchant ships begin to disappear. Time after time, they leave for the next flight, never to return. And all this is happening against the backdrop of worsening relations between the two star states, which have frozen in the Cold War stage. To cope with the threat, the governor of one of the systems decides to hire a private military organization to provide protection to his merchant ships. But as often happens, the guards on the city walls sometimes look in the wrong direction.
