Alexander Etman is a journalist, publisher and editor-in-chief of the daily newspaper “New World” (Chicago), living in the USA for almost 20 years. His first book, published in Russia, included stories about the problems and joys of the last wave of Russian emigration. Written with talent, these stories, funny and sad, showing characters in various situations, create a real picture of the life of a certain section of American society, but most importantly, “they have a rather rare quality in modern literature: they are interesting to read” (Dina Rubina). And according to the author himself, in general this book is about how we are changing, and what was important fades into the background, what seemed like a trifle becomes important.
