The topic of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident, unfortunately, is again in the spotlight, and this is due not only to the sad date - the 25th anniversary of the Chernobyl explosion. The recent disaster at a nuclear power plant in Japan forces us to revisit the tragic events of 1986. For Alla Yaroshinskaya, the Chernobyl topic became the main one in her life. Over the course of many years, she traveled to contaminated villages, spoke with victims, repeatedly met with liquidators, obtained various “closed” materials on Chernobyl, spoke from the highest podium in the country, scrupulously studied documents, wrote articles and books - in general, selflessly, by all used means to fight against the hushing up of the true scale of the threat from the “peaceful atom” that had gotten out of control. Her new book “Chernobyl. Big Lie" is a kind of report on the selfless work of a writer, publicist, and politician.
