The story on which the play is based actually happened. Twelve years ago, Englishman John Baker, a resident of a small town in Yorkshire, suddenly fell ill - he was diagnosed with lymphoma - and soon died. John's wife and her friends, who were members of the Women's Society, produced a calendar each year with a different theme. And when John fell ill, the ladies had the idea to make an erotic calendar and pose for it themselves in order to increase his popularity, and transfer the money to the fund to fight leukemia. The calendar was released - it was dedicated to John's memory - and raised a lot of money. The participants in the project became famous, and the story with the calendar became the theme, first for a film, then for a play and performance.
