In this magical novel, we first meet the heroine of several Fortune books, the immortal and eternally young priestess of Isis - Morgan Le Fay. In one of her incarnations she is a priestess who escaped from the destruction of Atlantis, in another she is the sister of King Arthur, known from legends as the fairy Morgana, a pupil of the wizard Merlin, who appears in this book as the Moon Priest. The main character of the book, on whose behalf the story is told, Wilfrid Maxwell, an ordinary English gentleman from the provinces, becomes, thanks to his love for the Priestess of the Sea, one of the initiates, the Priest of the Sun in the revived ancient tradition.
