Correspondence with Sergei Dovlatov covers more than twenty years of our friendship. For the first two years we corresponded while living in the same city - Leningrad. Then the “great movements” began. In 1969, Dovlatov left for Kurgan, and then to Tallinn. In 1975, our family emigrated to the United States and settled in Boston. Three years later Dovlatov emigrated. All these years, wherever we were, we continued our friendship and our correspondence. Lyudmila Stern
