Tony Hendra is a pioneer of British-American journalism, actor, director, producer, writer, and publisher. The autobiographical novel Father Joe spans nearly fifty years in the lives of Hendra and his friend and mentor, Father Joseph Worrilow. During this time, the author managed to change ten times from total faith to complete atheism and vice versa; go through fire, water and copper pipes of filming, premieres, benefit performances, radio broadcasts, marriages and divorces; become disillusioned to the point of suicide and regain the strength to live.
