This book consists of three internally interconnected stories. In the first story, a group of Islamic extremists blows up a ship on a pond and then shoots people on the beach. They don’t make demands, they don’t need anything - they just kill in the name of Allah. What stands in their way is not law enforcement agencies, but caring people, military and civilian, who care where they live. And on this path, fighting evil, they themselves create evil. But everything ends when two missiles hit an oil refinery in Ufa. In the second story, Islamic extremists stage a rebellion in one of the Caucasus autonomies, pushed by British military advisers. And then caring people stand in their way - Cossacks, retired and active officers. The president of the autonomy hysterically demands to evacuate him with all the stolen goods, not suspecting that he has a suicide bomber on his guard. And all local police, military, and simply authoritative people now have to choose who they are with. Because it’s no longer possible to sit on two chairs. In the third story, Lieutenant Thomas Kreis from the Bundeswehr is serving in Afghanistan. This business trip is called Einsatz. He does not understand why he is here, but he serves conscientiously. He also has strange dreams about Berlin in 1945. And one day he finds himself in some strange place and meets his long-dead great-grandfather there...
