People's Artist of the USSR Georgy Zhzhenov, long and firmly beloved by millions of moviegoers, began acting in films back in the 1930s (he also managed to play in the legendary “Chapaev” by the Vasilyev brothers), but then disappeared from the audience’s attention for seventeen long years . During these years, he had to take a full measure of hardship, go through prisons, camps, and exile. He recalls this in his book “The Lived.” In the book “The Lived,” Georgy Zhzhenov recalls mainly the most difficult years of his life - the time when he was a prisoner of the Gulag.
