For the first time, based on a comprehensive clinical-psychopathological and statistical study, the boundaries of apathy and the relationship with other components of the depressive syndrome have been studied. The prognostic significance of apathy and its impact on socio-psychological functioning were studied. Recommendations for the treatment of these conditions have been developed. Predictors of effectiveness have been identified, and recommendations have been developed for the treatment of variants of depression with apathy. The established patterns of formation and prognostic significance of apathy in the structure of depression have opened up additional possibilities for treatment and rehabilitation of patients with these types of depressive disorders.
