The main sources on the history of Kazakhstan include works written in Persian in Central Asia and neighboring countries. Many important problems of the history of Kazakhstan still await their deep and comprehensive study, a much greater accumulation of diverse factual material, its generalization and analysis. Persian-language historical works on the history of Kazakhstan are presented mainly in the form of chronicles. This name usually refers to works of different nature and content - from simple lists of rulers to works that can be called detailed historical treatises. Persian manuscripts found by archaeographers during expeditions in France, Uzbekistan, Russia contain a lot of unique information on history and culture Kazakhstan, its connections with neighboring countries, peoples in the Middle Ages and modern times.
An unknown list of works Addition to the dictionary “al-Surakh min al-Sihah” by Jamal al-Karshi was found in the city of Kasansay, Namangan region (Uzbekistan). In Central Asian historiography, the work of al-Karshi occupies a special place as the only historical work compiled on the territory of the Chagatai ulus during the Mongol period. It contains information about religious and cultural life in the cities of Central Asia during the period of Mongol rule. In terms of its content, “al-Mulhakat bi-s-surakh” is a rather diverse genre work of an encyclopedic nature. It presents historical and geographical information, information on the history of Islam, Koranic studies, the history of the prophets and ruling dynasties in Transoxiana and Kashgar, autobiographical notes and memories of the author about his contemporaries in the 13th–14th centuries. There is a short essay on the grammar of the Arabic language. The book is intended for orientalists, students, teachers and anyone interested in the history of Central Asia and Kazakhstan.
