Camilo José Cela is one of the most famous writers of modern Spain (born in 1916). Author of numerous novels (“The Family of Pascual Duarte”, “The Beehive”, “San Camilo, 1936”, “Mazurka for Two Dead Men”, “Christ Against Arizona”, etc.), short stories (popular collections: “Clouds That Float” , “The Galician and his Quadrilla”, “Don Cristobito’s New Paradise”), social and everyday sketches, essays, poems and even dictionary works; Nobel Prize laureate (1989). The writer has a unique, original style, called “estilo celiano”. Its characteristic feature is irony, bordering on the grotesque.
